Local arborists Tim Harris and Ra Hammer, in association with Orton Bradley Park and Canterbury Arboretum Association, are organising an event for next summer inspired by the trees of Orton Bradley Park and Banks Peninsula.
It will be a two day family friendly event for Arborists, tree enthusiasts and their families with camping encouraged in the beautiful surroundings of Orton Bradley Park.
SATURDAY 14TH FEBRUARY 2015 - ARBORIST WORKING BEE
Climb, learn and play in an awesome selection of mature trees whilst helping the Orton Bradley and CAA maintain the park.
-We are looking at organising workshops involving technical tree dismantling and advanced rigging etc...
Are you interested in leading a workshop or want to take part?
-A presentation from the Canterbury Arboretum Association with a wealth of knowledge to be passed on...
-Help list the parks trees with The New Zealand Tree Register
-Other events still in the drafting stage!
-Free meals and refreshment provided by Ra and Tim for all contributors of time and equipment
-Camping encouraged in an awesome park with full amenities
SUNDAY 15TH FEBRUARY 2015
-Tree climbing event for children. Learn to climb tree's safely under guided supervision
-Park treasure hunt for the younger children
-Planting of a commemorative tree by Orton Bradley Park and CAA
